Job mission

As our Senior Legal Counsel, you will support and spar with the General Counsel in any legal matters. In this position we would like to see you support the business in various countries, acting as the first point of contact and trusted advisor of our business stakeholders. Joining the Legal team you will have the opportunity to thrive in an international environment with multi-jurisdictional challenges. Our Legal team currently consists of 3 people: General Counsel, Legal Counsel, and Privacy and Data Protection Specialist.

Job responsibilities

Your responsibilities will be wide-faceted with a primary focus on commercial topics:

  • Provide first-line client-centric legal support to our Sales and Account Management teams across the globe in various jurisdictions on commercial and legal issues
  • Review and negotiate commercial agreements, including demand-side master service agreements, agency agreements, statements of work and supply-side partnership agreements

In addition, you will proactively address and resolve potential issues internally while providing risk mitigation advice to business clients and supporting business objectives:

  • Partner closely with Sales and Services leadership to understand the business objectives and hurdles, while driving strategic improvements
  • Support our product and business units in the development of new products and the opening up of new business areas
  • Consult our HR team on employment related questions
  • Support the Finance team with regard to tax-related, invoicing or debt collection topics
  • Advise the Marketing team on possibilities and limitations of online marketing
  • Coordinate with our Data Protection and Security Specialist on privacy matters
  • Interest in (legal) business process modelling, deploying according tooling and driving change (i.e. Legal Operations) is a benefit
  • Devise and carry-out legal trainings to ensure safe operation of the company

Job requirements

  • Broad understanding of substantive law relating to high technology companies 
  • It would be advantageous if you are able to navigate well Common Law and/or APAC jurisdictions
  • Solid experience in providing advice regarding several of the following: contract law, contract negotiation, business and tech law
  • Provide creative, pragmatic and business oriented advice and you have the ability to properly balance risks and business reward
  • You have a strong focus on accuracy, great negotiation skills and methodical approach to work
  • Outstanding English language communication skills
  • You are a proactive self-starter who enjoys working in a fast-paced and high-growth organization
