Turning installs into revenue

Omio attracts millions of app downloads each year, but like many travel apps, a large share of users don’t make a first booking. To drive growth, Omio needed to:

  • Re-engage recent installers and guide them toward their first purchase.
  • Drive conversions in a highly competitive market where users have many travel booking options.
  • Unlock additional revenue by activating dormant user potential.

Simply put: downloads alone weren’t enough and Omio needed a partner to turn installers into loyal, paying customers. Omio partnered with Remerge to grow revenue by converting high volumes of app installers into first-time bookers across global markets.

The Solution

Targeted segmentation for first-time bookers

Omio provided an open data stream via Adjust MMP, allowing Remerge to target first-time bookers based on app launches or searches, with flexible recency windows. The strategy was to prioritize users who launched the app or performed a search but hadn’t made a purchase. Omio allowed Remerge to decide on which users to target based on when last they had visited the app (recency window) across geographies, which helped maximize conversions.

Dynamic geo and budget management

Retargeting campaigns were rolled out worldwide and on both iOS and Android. Campaigns were tailored to specific markets (for example, DACH, LATAM, APAC, as well as Spain, Italy and France), with smaller regions aggregated for efficiency. Omio provided Remerge full flexibility in shifting budgets between campaigns and operating systems based on performance.

Localized creatives with smart distribution

We used static and video creatives in multiple languages and adapted promotions to market context. Furthermore, English creatives were rolled out globally to reach international travelers, ensuring relevance across diverse audiences.
